TDES – Triple DES Upgrade
Triple DES upgrade will give ATMs the ability to triple encrypt
a PIN number during an ATM transaction. The targeted compliance
date is November 1, 2006.
The goal of Triple DES is to better provide a safeguard against
identity theft, which is unfortunately becoming more common in
today’s society. Most ATMs manufactured prior to 2005 will
need to be TDES upgraded, or replaced entirely, with a new ATM
that is Triple DES compliant. In most circumstances, this will
be a costly upgrade ($700 - $5000, depending on your ATM model).
However, ATM USA can offer you a significant discount, or in
some cases, a FREE Triple DES Upgrade of your existing Cross,
MoneyTree, Triton, Tidel, or Tranax brand ATM machine. To be
eligible for these upgrades, you must sign up for ATM transaction
processing with us by contacting our regional sales representatives.
ATMs that will need to be TDES compliant by November 2006 include
the following models:
- CROSS: MB1000, MB2000, MB2100, Nano
- MONEYTREE: All models
- TIDEL: IS800, IS1000, IS2000, TD, SC (AnyCard)
- TRANAX: 1500

- TRITON: Mako, 9500, 9600, 9610,
9620, 9650
